McDonald wins marathon match with Wilson to reach OGA Junior semifinals

William McDonald of Oklahoma City went 24 holes to edge Jordan Wilson of Edmond 1 up in a titanic quarterfinal match in the Oklahoma Golf Association Boys and Girls Junior Amateur Championship Wednesday at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond.
McDonald earned a berth in the semifinals against Eric Schuessler of Stillwater, who upended Andrew Goodman of Norman 1 up. The other semifinal will feature Jaxon Dowell of Edmond, a 2 and 1 victor over Charlie Jackson of Norman, against Bosten Benn of Edmond, a 3 and 1 winner over Christian McAllister of Oklahoma City.
In the girls division, medalist Brooklyn Benn of Edmond edged Class 6A state champion Sydney Hermann of Ponca City in 19 holes to move into the semifinals against Jenni Roller of Jenks, a 4 and 2 victor over Reagan Chaney of Ardmore.
Alyssa Wilson of Yukon edged Maddi Kamas of Kingfisher 2 and 1 for the right to face Raychel Nelke of Pocola, a 5 and 3 winner over Blayne Barker of Durant.
