McLure helps Cameron claim lead in Midwestern State Invitational
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Dylan McLure shot a 5-under 66 in the second round to help Cameron claim an eight-shot lead over Northeastern State through 36 holes of the Midwestern State Invitational, which is being contested at the par-71, 6,812-yard Wichita Falls Country Club.
McLure is tied for the individual lead after rounds of 70-66 put him at 6-under, equaling the results of Zach James of Southeastern Oklahoma State, whose shot consecutive rounds of 68.
Cameron leads the field at 3-under 565 (291-274) after shooting 10-under in the second round. NSU is second eight strokes out of first at 5-over 573 (291-282). Southern Nazarene (301-280) and Southeastern Oklahoma State (286-295) are locked in a tie for third at 13-over 581, while Dallas Baptist (298-289) and West Texas A&M (297-290) are tied for fifth at 19-over 587.
Junior Brent Williamson leads NSU at 2-under 140. He shot even-par 71 in the first round and fired a career-low 69 in the afternoon to vault into solo third.
The final round will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday with a shotgun start.
