Janet Miller has been in the championship match of the Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship before. But it’s been a while.
Miller, 59, lost to Patty Coatney in the finals in 1991. Thirty years later she made it back with a 2 and 1 victory over Lilly Whitley of Edmond in the semifinals Wednesday at The Territory in Duncan. She will face ShaeBug Scarberry of Purcell Thursday morning for the title. Scarberry defeated Olivia Coit of Edmond 2 up in the other semifinal.
Scarberry will also be playing in the finals for the second time, having lost in the finals in 2019 to Sydney Youngblood of Durant.
