Milligan easily advances to Stage Two in LPGA Qualifying

Kaitlin Milligan of Norman shot 9-under to tie for 10th and easily advance in the LPGA Qualifying tournament Stage One in late August at the Dinah Shore Course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

A total of 95 players finished at 3-over par or better to advance to Stage II in Venice, Fla., from Oct. 21-24 in Venice, Fla., on the Panther Course and Bobcat Course at Plantation Golf and Country Club.

Also advancing while retaining her amateur status is current OU golfer Libby Winans at 1 over.

Gina Kim, a senior-to-be at Duke, shot 15-under to lead qualifying.

Milligan completed her collegiate career as a Sooner in the spring. She tied for 19th in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur last spring and in one event on the Symetra Tour this summer she placed third in the Twin Bridges Championship at Pinehaven Country Club in Albany, N.Y.
