Moore finishes second in Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament
WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — Former Edmond Memorial star Taylor Moore shot a final-round 65 to polish off a 14-under performance over 72 holes, good for second place in the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament at Orange County National.
Moore, who this spring completed his eligibility at Arkansas, will be guaranteed entry into the first 12 events of the 2017 Web.com Tour. Moore played his way into the final stage by finishing in the top five on the Mackenzie Tour in Canada this summer.
Those who placed in the top 45 earned starting spots in at least the first eight events of 2017. Players with Oklahoma ties in that category were former Oklahoma Sooner Abraham Ancer, tied for 14th at 8 under, former Oklahoma State star Talor Gooch of Midwest City, tied for 23rd at 6 under, former University of Tulsa star Chris Worrell of Jenks and an Enid native, tied for 32nd at 5 under.
The remainder of the field will have conditional status on the Web.com Tour in 2017. That will include Tulsan Charlie Saxon (OU), who tied for 89th at 2 over; Blake Trimble of Southern Nazarene, tied for 105th at 3 over along with Will Kropp of Edmond; former OSU golfer Kevin Dougherty tied for 113th at 4 over; former UCO star Josh Creel tied for 131st at 8 over and former OU golfer Michael Schoolcraft tied for 141st at 11 over.
