Neisen, McCrary lead Cowgirls to runner-up finish in LSU Classic
BATON ROUGE, La.—Led by a pair of top-five finishers, the Oklahoma State women’s golf team finished in second place with an 8-over 872 in the LSU Tiger Golf Classic – the team’s third top-three finish in their last four events.
Kenzie Neisen carded 16 birdies over the 54 holes, including six on Sunday, to fourth at even par 216. Maddie McCrary shot a 3-under 69 in the third round to vault her up the leaderboard 12 places. She finished in tie for fifth place with a 1-over 217.
Duke’s Leona Maguire shot a 10-under 2016 to place her first in individual play. Duke held their lead and finished first with a 10-under 854.
Linnea Johansson tied for 11th place with a 3-over 219, while Chi-Min Chen shot a 9-over 225 to tie for 32nd place. Emma Broze finished tied for 34th place with a 10-over 226.
Isabella Deilert competed as an individual and finished in a tie for 47th at 14-over 230.
The Cowgirls will be in Athens, Ga. to compete in the Liz Murphy Invitational on April 7.
