NSU in fourth in home event at Cherokee Hills
CATOOSA, Okla.- The No. 22- ranked Northeastern State women’s golf team sits in fourth-place after round one of the 15th Annual NSU Women’s Golf Classic. The Classic is being held this year at the par-70, 5,746 yard Cherokee Hills Golf Club located at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Northeastern State freshman Baylee Price leads NSU and is currently tied for fourth place after shooting a 5-over par score of 77. The RiverHawks shot an overall 322 to end round one.
Also scoring for team NSU is freshman Sofia Castiello who carded an 80 and tied for 12th. Junior Arizona Chin shot an 82 and tied for 20th while fellow teammate freshman Gabbi Shelton shot an 83 to tie for 23rd place. Sophomore Kayla Schroeder followed with an 88 to tie 36th in round one of the tournament.
Additionally, Northeastern State redshirt freshman Katie Lemler shot an 81 playing as an individual today.
The RiverHawks currently sit in fourth-place following Arkansas-Fort Smith who carded a 319 to land in third-place. Leading the pack is Arkansas Tech who scored 309 followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State (316) in second.
Northeastern State will return to the course for the final round teeing off at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday morning.
