Oklahoma City University is tied for second after the first round of the NAIA Women’s National Championship at Rose Creek Golf Course in Edmond.
Keiser University shot a 1-over 289 and leads OCU and Taylor University by five shots.
The Stars were led by Lauren Behnken, who shot 71 and is tied for seventh individually. McKenzie McCoy shot 73 while Natalie Gough and Rachel Eckert each added rounds of 75.
The second round of the 72-hole championship begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Oklahoma City University is trying for its ninth national title. The NAIA Championships were slated for Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Mich., but were relocated to Rose Creek due to restrictions on athletic events in the northern area.
