OGA Junior Championships to return to Lincoln Park for 2023 as Kickingbird opening delayed

The Oklahoma Golf Association State Junior Amateur will not serve as the launch point for the huge renovation of Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond after all. The OGA announced Tuesday that the boys and girls junior will be held June 5-8 at Lincoln Park West in Oklahoma City, the same venue where it was held in 2022.

Kickingbird will not quite be ready at that time, said Director of Golf Brian Soerensen, due to the time needed to build and install a booster pump station for water pressure. Soerensen said a new opening date for Kickingbird would be announced in the next few weeks.

Parker Sands won the 2022 boys match play championship while Ryder Cowan won the stroke play title. Jenni Roller won both the girls stroke play and match play titles.
