OKC Golf Galaxy open, GolfTec resumes lessons Friday
Golf Galaxy opened its new store in Oklahoma City Tuesday, taking over the former Golfsmith store at 2120 W Memorial Rd. Golfsmith stores were purchased in a bankruptcy auction by Dick’s Sporting Goods in October for about $70 million.
The Golfsmith footprint, at 30,000 feet, is nearly three times larger than the previous Golf Galaxy store in Oklahoma City and features nine hitting bays and a GolfTec store, which had previously been open in Golfsmith but moved to another GolfTec location in Moore when GolfSmith closed.
GolfTec was scheduled to reopen and resume giving lessons on Friday, Feb. 3.
Ben Bishop, a manager of the OKC Golf Galaxy, said the original plan was to reopen the store on Friday but work had been ahead of schedule. Previous Golf Galaxy customers were notified via email about the Tuesday opening.
