ORU men fifth, women third in respective tournaments

LAS CRUCES, N.M.  – With a tough field, the Oral Roberts University men’s golf team held its own on day one of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, finishing the day at 3-over par as a team, sitting fifth at 571 (283-288). New Mexico State leads the way at 560 (276-284) to take a seven shot lead into the final round.
 
Will Paulsell, who entered as ORU’s fourth golfer, led the way with a -2 140 (69-71) on Monday, tying for seventh overall.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.  – A pair of solid rounds has the Oral Roberts University women’s golf team in contention with 18 holes to play at the Blue Raider Invitational. ORU (295-299—594) is five shots off the leaders from Middle Tennessee State (296-293—589) and two shots back of UALR (290-302—592).
 
Three of five ORU golfers are in the top-15 individually, including Alejandra Acosta (74-73—147) and Paty Torres (73-75—148), who sit in ties for sixth and ninth place, respectively.
