ORU women shatter school record in Primm Valley, men tied for eighth
PRIMM, Nev. – The Oral Roberts women’s golf team continued to have success at Primm Valley as the Golden Eagles shattered the school record in the first round of the Jackrabbit Invitational Monday, shooting 282. ORU finished the day at 577 (282-295) and sits in second place with one round to play. South Dakota State leads the 11-team field 575 (290-285).
The 282 from the Golden Eagles was five shots better than the school record 287, shot at the same tournament in 2011. After Monday, four of the top five rounds in ORU history have come at the Jackrabbit Invitational.
Alejandra Acosta matched her lifetime best with a 68 in the first round, tying for the second best round in school history, the fourth time an ORU golfer has recorded a 68.
