OSU, Stark take second, Tulsa seventh at Trinity Forest Invitational

DALLAS – The Oklahoma State women’s golf team finished second, including a runner-up finish for Maja Stark at the Trinity Forest Invitational.

Stark, a sophomore, carded a career-low 66 in the first round and finished 4-under 212, just one stroke shy of first place. She also had the tournament low on par-4 holes, the second-most birdies and marked an eagle in the third round.

Stark led the Cowgirls to a 294 on the day to finish with an 879 for the tournament and a second-place finish as a team. OSU led the competition with the most on-par holes.

Lianna Bailey marked an eagle on the first hole of the tournament and her momentum only continued. She finished in a tie for ninth at 5-over 221 with 11 birdies, third most amongst the competition.

Han-Hsuan Yu finished in a tie for 18th at 9-over 225 while Hailey Jones finished in a tie for 23rd at 11-over 227. In her debut as a Cowgirl, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard finished in a tie for 30th at 13-over 229.

Baylor took home the team title shooting 1-over 865, while Hannah Karg of Baylor took home the individual title at 5-under 211.

The Oklahoma State women’s golf team will return to action February 7-9 at LTWF Heroes in Sarasota, Florida.

The Tulsa women’s  team finished seventh with a score of 907. The Golden Hurricane carded a final round score of 297 at the par-72 Trinity Forest Golf Course.

Haley Greb turned in Tulsa’s best round of the day with a 2-under 70 and finished with a career-best 7th place individual performance. She finished the 54-hole event with a 4-over par 220. Lorena Tseng was two shots back in 11th place with a score of 6-over par 222 after shooting a final round 73 on Tuesday.

Lilly Thomas scored a final round 78 for a 39th place 231 total score.

Taylor Dobson finished in 48th place with a final score of 234, while freshman Tita Loudtragulngam, in her first collegiate tournament, placed 73rd overall.

Tulsa will be back in action next week, Feb. 8-9, at the Texas State Invitational at the Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle, Texas.
