SAN ANTONIO – The Oklahoma men’s golf team will open its 2023-24 season this weekend at the Valero Texas Collegiate at TPC San Antonio.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament tees off Saturday as teams will play one round daily in the traditional five-count-four format, with a champion crowned on Monday afternoon.

The 12-team tournament is highlighted by the No. 10/7-ranked Sooners and No. 3/2 Vanderbilt, along with nine other teams that made an NCAA Regional last season. The individual winner will receive an exemption into the 2024 Valero Texas Open on the PGA Tour.

The Oklahoma lineup leads off with Haskins Award watch list honoree and All-American Drew Goodman, followed by 2023 Trans-Mississippi Amateur champion Jake Holbrook. Stephen Campbell Jr., who started every event last year for OU, takes the third bag while Luke Kluver and Jase Summy wrap up the starting five.

Ben Lorenz, who debuted at No. 5 in PGA Tour U rankings last month, will play as an individual unattached from the lineup.

Admission to the tournament is free.
