Razorbacks lead, Cowgirls, Sooners in pursuit in Dale McNamara Invitational
Arkansas’ Reagan Zibliski took advantage of perfect afternoon scoring conditions to fire an 8-under 63 and lead the Razorbacks to an 8-shot lead over Oklahoma State through 36 holes of the 54-hole Dale McNamara Invitational at Cedar Ridge Country Club.
As a cool breezy morning gave way to a warm and calm afternoon, Ziblisky lowered her score by 10 shots as the Razorbacks shot an 8-under 276 as a team. Kendall Todd shot 69, Clarisa Temolo 71 and star Maria Jose Marin a 73.
Oklahoma State stayed within striking distance, lowering their morning 294 by 12 shots to 282 as Ellie Bushnell fired a 67 and Tarapath Ponya a 69 in the afternoon. Summer Lee had an even-par 71 and Sammie Miller a 75 in the afternoon.
Brigham Young is in their place at 594 while the Oklahoma Sooners are another shot back in fourth at 595.
Audrey Rischer is in 12th place for OU after rounds of 73-72 put her at 3-over 145. However the Sooners would be in much better position had senior Reagan Chaney been in the starting lineup instead of playing as an individual after missing out in qualifying.
Chaney led all golfers after opening with a 5-under 66 in the touch conditions. She then made two early double bogeys in her second round, but fought back to shoot a 1-over 72 and is in third place individually at 4-under 138, trailing Ziblisky by two shots and Todd by a single shot for the individual title.
Oral Roberts, led by consecutive 72s by Avery Blake, is in seventh place through 36 holes. Host Tulsa is in 11th in the 16-team event as Lovisa Gunnar’s opening 70 was the team’s only under-par round. Gunnar is tied for 16th at 147. Similar to OU, Tulsa would be in better shape had one of its top players not been bounced in qualifying, as junior Jenni Roller playing as an individual is in 25th place after an afternoon 71.
The final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
