Rogers State men, women grab lead in Hillcat Invitational at Bailey Ranch
OWASSO, Okla. – Rogers State men’s golf are the leaders in the clubhouse after a chilly first day of play at the Eighth Annual Hillcat Classic on Monday.
After 36 holes at the Par 72, 6,004 yard Bailey Ranch Golf Club, the Hillcats sit atop the leaderboard after turning in a card of 586 (+10). The second round was called for darkness with four teams still out on the course.
Elliot-Han Monteremal leads the field after shooting 139 (-5), including two incredible rounds of 70 and 69. The junior racked up nine birdies across the 36 holes.
Jack Roche sits in a five-way tie for seventh with a card of 148 (+4). Daniel Robles is in a three-way tie for 13th with a 149 (+5), which includes a 70 in the second round. Ty Nicar sits in a tie for 22nd with a 152 (+8), including an eagle on hole 1 in the second round. Tyler Collier is in a four-way tie for 26th with a 154 (+10). Tyler Cornwell is in a four-way tie for 36th after shooting 160 (+16).
Playing as an individual, Pedro Benjumea is in a four-way tie for 18th with a card of 151 (+7).
The Hillcats will wrap up the tournament with the final round Tuesday. The round is set for a shotgun start at approximately 9:15 a.m. following the completion of the second round.
RSU women lead field

After 18 holes at the Par 72, 6,004 yard Bailey Ranch Golf Club, the Hillcats sit atop the leaderboard after turning in a card of 308 (+20).
Raquel Flores leads the field after shooting a 76 (+4). The senior sank two birdies in the round.
Lydia Sitorus and Jaelyn Unger sit in a five-way tie for second with cards of 77 (+5). Brianna Maddux is in a tie for seventh with a 78 (+6). Marelda Ayal is in a three-way tie for 13th turning in a card of 81 (+9). Ellen Loving rounds out the group in a four-way tie for 21st after shooting an 83 (+11).
Playing as an individual, Kristin Gudmundsdottir is also in the five-way tie for second with a 77 (+5). Paulina Flores sits in a group of six tied at 25th with a card of 84 (+12). Jessica Osden is in a four-way tie for 38th with an 87 (+15).
The Hillcats will close out the tournament with the final round tomorrow. The final round is set for a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
