Scarberry, Youngblood finalists in 101st WOGA State Amateur
Top seeds ShaeBug Scarberry of Purcell and Sydney Youngblood of Durant will battle for the 2019 Women’s State Amateur Championship Thursday at Oak Tree Country Club on the East Course.
Scarberry defeated Kate Goodwin of Tulsa 6 and 5 in one semifinal Wednesday while Youngblood edged Taylor Dobson of Tulsa 2 and 1.
Scarberry, who will play for Troy in 2019 after spending her freshman year at Tulsa, was a 5 and 4 winner over Faith Belmear in the quarterfinals, while Youngblood, a four-time state champion at Durant and current junior at the University of Oklahoma, defeated Reagan Chaney 6 and 4.
