ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Jonathan Brightwell shares second, and the Oklahoma men’s golf team is in ninth-place after day two at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional.

The Sooners will enter Wednesday’s final round five shots back of Texas A&M and South Carolina, who share fourth and occupy the cut line. Following Wednesday’s round, the top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championship, alongside the low individual on a non-qualifying team.

Brightwell (T2, -8) posted four birdies before closing with a pair of bogeys to finish his second round with a 70 (-2) as he sits one shot back of the leader. The redshirt senior will look to secure the fourth collegiate win of his career on Wednesday, and his 12 birdies are tied for the most in Albuquerque.

The Oklahoma low-round of the day came from the bag of Garett Reband (T30, E) as the All-American fired a 68 (-4) on Tuesday after tallying seven birdies on the day.

His jump of 27 spots on the leaderboard was the second-largest jump on the day and Reband is in a good position to notch the 26th top-20 finish of his career.

Logan McAllister (T24, -1) had an up-and-down round but closed with two of his six birdies coming in the final three holes to shoot a 73 (+1) and move into a tie for 24th
after 36 holes.

Quade Cummins (T57, +6) matched McAllister with a 73 at the par-72 UNM Championship Course. The redshirt senior has been on the verge of a big round, sinking a
field-high 26 pars over the first two rounds.

Freshman Ben Lorenz subbed in for junior Patrick Welch on Tuesday and collected a 2-over 74 in the first postseason round of his career.

The top-ranked Sooners will have a chance to close the gap early tomorrow as they’ll tee off the first hole starting at 8:25 MDT. They’ll be matched up with San Diego
(T6, -5) and Stanford (8, -4) for the final day.

Spectators are permitted based on local/state guidelines, which are subject to change. It is requested that spectators wear masks and follow physical distancing protocols,
including remaining at least 15 yards away from student-athletes, coaches and other team personnel. Spectators must also keep distanced from tee boxes and greens. The
