Sooners remain in 11th in Nike Collegiate at Colonial
The No. 2 Oklahoma men’s golf team carded a 286 (+6) during Monday’s second round at the Nike Collegiate Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is taking place at the par-70, 7,204-yard Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
The 15-team field features eight teams ranked inside the top 25 of the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll. OU heads into the final round in 11th place with a two-day total of 575 (+15).
Duke moved into first place on Monday, posting a second-round 274 (-6) to grab the lead at 559 (-1) with 18 holes to go. Clemson is second with a 36-hole total of 561 (+1), while Texas and Wake Forest are tied for third place at 564 (+4). Vanderbilt sits in fifth place with a two-day 569 (+9).
Senior Blaine Hale led the Sooners during the second round, finishing with an even-par 70. Hale carded three birdies on Tuesday and moved into a tie for 20th place at 142 (+2) with 18 holes remaining.
Junior Garett Reband is tied for 29th place at 144 (+4) after posting a 74 (+4) during Monday’s second round.
Junior Riley Casey and senior Brad Dalke share 38th place at 146 (+6) through two rounds. Casey fired OU’s best round of the day, finishing with a 69 (-1). The junior picked up four birdies during his round. Dalke recorded a 73 (+3) during Tuesday’s action.
With 18 holes remaining, redshirt junior Quade Cummins is tied for 61st place at 150 (+10). Cummins finished with a 76 (+6) in the second round.
The Sooners will begin the final round at 8 a.m. CT with Oregon and TCU from hole no. 10.
