Sooners’ spring slate includes Big 12 at Southern Hills, hosting regional
NORMAN – Oklahoma golf coach Ryan Hybl and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione announced the Sooners’ 2018 spring schedule on Tuesday.
OU’s spring schedule features some of the nation’s most competitive collegiate golf events and nation’s top courses.
The 2017 NCAA Champions will open their spring slate at the Puerto Rico Classic, Feb. 18-20, at the Rio Mar Resort. OU will participate in the highly competitive Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, on March 5-7 before heading to the Lone Star Invitational to defend its 2017 tournament title, March 19-20 in San Antonio, Texas.
The Sooners’ spring schedule also includes a trip to San Francisco, Calif., for The Goodwin, March 29-31. OU wraps up its regular season at the Arizona State Thunderbird Classic, April 14-15.
The 2018 Big 12 Championship will be played April 23-25 at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla. OU will serve as the host of an NCAA Regional, May 14-16, at the Jimmie Austin Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
The 2018 NCAA Championships will run May 25-30 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.
During the fall, OU won the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational and earned four top-3 finishes as a team. Junior Brad Dalke led the Sooners during the fall with a 69.85 scoring average and earned four top-10 finishes, while senior Grant Hirschman and junior Blaine Hale provided three top-10 finishes.
