Stark, OSU sweep titles at LTWF Heroes Intercollegiate
SARASOTA, Fla. – Maja Stark recorded her second collegiate victory in record-breaking fashion, which helped the Oklahoma State women’s golf team capture the team title at the LTWF Heroes Intercollegiate at The Founders Club.
Stark used 21 birdies to post rounds of 66-66-69 (-15) 201 to tie her teammate Isabella Fierro for the lowest 54-hole score in school history. The victory is her second in just six collegiate starts, and she is now the 10th player in school history to earn multiple career wins.
The Cowgirls will return from the event with the individual and team trophies for the first time since the 2016 Big 12 Championship, and for the 54th time in school history. The team’s final score of 849 is good for the third-lowest in school history, and the lowest by an OSU squad since 2016.
After Stark’s performance, three current Cowgirls now own the five lowest 54-hole scores in school history – Stark, Fierro and Lianna Bailey.
Stark’s victory is the fourth individual win under second-year head coach Greg Robertson and the 91st in school history. The team title is Robertson’s second at OSU and the 29th of his head coaching career. OSU has won 94 team events in program history.
Playing in just her second collegiate event, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard tied for seventh place after carding rounds of 73-70-70 (-3) 213, while Baily wasn’t far behind at T11 after posting 74-70-71 (-1) 215. Han-Hsuan Yu and Hailey Jones rounded things out at T31st and T59, respectively.
The Cowgirls will return to action at the ICON Invitational at The Woodlands Golf Club in The Woodlands, Texas on Feb. 22-23. Complete results at www.golfstat.com.
