Tulsa’s Thomas named Player of the Week for AAC
IRVING, Texas –– University of Tulsa golfer Lilly Thomas was named the American Athletic Conference’s Women’s Golf Player of the Week, it was announced today by the league office.
Thomas was the individual medalist at The Bruzzy over the weekend, claiming her first career collegiate victory. Thomas turned in rounds of 72-68-68 for a 2-under par 208 score at the par 70 Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Okla., in leading Tulsa to a second-place team performance.
Her winning performance was her sixth top-12 finish this season. In 33 career tournaments, Thomas has finished among the top-25 in 21 events and among the top-10 nine times.
Thomas has a 72.6 stroke average in 26 rounds this year and during the spring campaign has carded an average of 71.1 in 14 rounds.
The weekly honor marked Thomas’ second career Golfer of the Week award. Her first came during the 2021 campaign.
Tulsa is in action next at the American Athletic Conference Championship, April 17-19, at the Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Fla.
