Lane Wallace fired a 6-under 64 to surge into the lead after two rounds of the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at Dornick Hills in Ardmore Tuesday.

Wallace, a former University of Oklahoma golfer and current Oral Roberts team member from Yukon, has a four-shot lead over Matthew Braley of Broken Arrow and first-round leader William McDonald of Oklahoma City. Braley, who was named All Western Athletic Conference second team this year for Grand Canyon State, shot 5-under 65 to leap into a tie with McDonald, who followed up an opening 65 with a round of 1-over 71.

Lurking five shots back are Edmond golfers Jaxon Dowell of OU and Jordan Wilson of Oklahoma State. Dowell shot 67 Tuesday after an opening 70 and Wilson has shot 69-68.

Wallace won the OGA Junior Amateur in 2016, while Braley and Dowell both claimed state high school championships in 2018, Braley winning Class 5A and Dowell winning Class 3A, a feat he repeated in 2019. McDonald, who will play for Cincinnati in the fall, finished second, second and fourth in Class 4A from 2017-19.

The field was cut to the low 30 and ties for the final round Wednesday.
