Whitekiller leading Web.com Qualifying after third round

In the McKinney, Texas qualifier at TPC Craig Ranch, Trent Whitekiller of Sallisaw shot 67-71-69 to take the lead with 9-under. Tulsa native Brad Elder is 4-under and tied for 6th after rounds of 67-71-74.

Talor Gooch of Choctaw and Oklahoma State University is tied for 11th at 1-under (72-75-68). Former University of Tulsa golfer Logan McCracken of Oklahoma City is tied for 32nd at 3-over (73-72-74). Ian Davis of Edmond is tied for 40th at 5-over (73-78-70).

Oklahoma Christian golfer Rhein Gibson rises from seventh to tie for fourth after round three of the second stage of Web.Com Tour Qualifying in Kingwood, Texas. Former University of Oklahoma golfer Abraham Ancer is tied for eighth.

Gibson is 1-over after rounds of 75-69-73 at Deerwood Golf Club while Ancer, also a former Oklahoma Open champion, shot 70-73-75 and is now 2-over. The top 18 and ties in the 75-player field will advance to the Final Stage  Dec. 11-16 at PGA National Resort & Spa (Champion & Fazio courses) in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Other Oklahoma players to advance in Houston include Chris Worrell of Jenks, tied for 14th at 5-over (71-75-75), and Robby Ormand, the 2014 Oklahoma Open champion from Austin, Texas, also tied for 14th at 5-over. Corey Hale of Edmond is tied for 59th at 14-over.

In a third qualifier in Brooksville, Fla., former OSU golfer Pablo Martin is tied for 41st at 2-under. Oklahoma City native Blake Trimble, who played collegiate golf at Southern Nazarene University, is tied for 43rd at 1-under. Complete results of all the qualifiers can be found here.
