Whittern receives first Walter Hopper Memorial Scholarship
Broken Arrow, Okla. – PGA REACH South Central, Brown O’Haver Insurance Adjustors and The Hopper Family are pleased to announce that Haley Whittern of Piedmont, Okla., has been awarded the inaugural Walter Hopper Memorial Scholarship.
Whittern, a 2023 graduate of Piedmont High School and the 2022 South Central PGA Junior Tour Player of the Year, is living out her dream to play collegiate golf at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, where she is studying Sports Medicine/Exercise Science.
Walter Hopper was the founder of the PGA South Central Section Junior Tour and a tireless advocate for young golfers, He passed away in November of 2022. Having learned the impact that Hopper made on the game of golf and understanding the sacrifices her parents and family made for her to live out this dream, Haley said she is honored to be associated with such a scholarship.
