Burrows fires 66 to lead ORU in Mobile

Editor’s note: The final round of the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate was canceled Tuesday due to heavy rains so the below results stand as the final results for the event. Burrows tied for second and ORU finished tied for seventh.

MOBILE, Ala. –  The Oral Roberts men’s golf team shot -1 (287) in the second round of the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate, Monday, and sits in a four-way tie for seventh place after 36 holes. The Golden Eagles shot 579 (292-287) to tie with Louisiana, Richmond and Illinois State on the first day of ORU’s spring season.

Cody Burrows matched his career low with a 66 in the second round to lead the Golden Eagles. The round is tied for the fourth best in school history and matches his 66 from the second round of the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate April 2, 2018.

ORU’s 287 is the third best round of the year, and the second best on a par 72 course, trailing only the 285 in the opening round of the Memphis Invitational.

ORU has three golfers inside the top 40 individually, out of nearly 80 golfers in the field.
