Chaney, McLaughlin, Roller, Sides among qualifiers for U.S. Girls, Boys Junior Championships

Grace Kilcrease of Springdale, Reagan Chaney of Ardmore and Kate Tilma advanced in a qualifier for the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur Championship held Monday at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course in Norman.

The U.S. Junior Girls Championship is scheduled July 12-17 at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Md.

Kilcrease shot 3-under 69, while Tilma and Chaney each shot 1-under 71. Olivia Coit of Edmond is the first alternate and Sophie Biediger of Dallas are the first and second alternates after each shot 73. Complete results are here:

In qualifying for the U.S. Boys Junior Championship, Kyle McLaughlin of Oklahoma City and Jayce Hargrove of Lubbock, Texas, qualified with 2-under 70s after winning a playoff with Benton Manly of Tulsa and Ryder Cowan of Edmond, who also each shot 70. Results are here.

The U.S. Junior Amateur is July 19-24 at The Country Club of North Carolina in the Village of Pinehurst.

At a second USGA qualifier in St. Louis, Jenni Roller of Jenks was the low qualifier with a 2-over 74 at The Legends Country Club. In the boys qualifier at the same site, William Sides of Tulsa led the field with an even-par 72 to qualify for the championship.

Roller won the OGA Junior Championship last Thursday at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond.
