Cowboys ready for title defense at Augusta Haskins Award Invite
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team will look to repeat its performance from a year ago at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational when it tees it up this weekend at Forest Hills Golf Club.
The Cowboys won last year’s event after erasing a nine-stroke deficit during the final round, finishing with a 37-under-par total of 827 en route to a two-shot victory.
OSU will be one of 15 teams in action at the par-72, 7,086-yard layout. Play will begin on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. (EST) with a shotgun start and 36 holes of continuous play. Sunday’s final round is slated for an 8:30 a.m. start as well.
The second-ranked Cowboys are coming off their third win of the year in record-setting fashion at the N.I.T. OSU cruised to a 21-shot victory with a tournament-record tally of 811, 53-under par.
Individually, senior Eugenio Chacarra set the tournament’s individual scoring mark at 20-under 196 to grab medalist honors for the second time this spring.
He will be joined in the lineup this weekend by seniors Aman Gupta and Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, junior Rayhan Thomas and sophomore Bo Jin.
