Weekend Pro Roundup:

Talor Gooch of Midwest City put on a gutsy performance in the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, shooting a 64 on Saturday to move into contention and then an even-par 71 on Sunday to finish tied for 10th at 7-under. Gooch was 4-over on the four par-3s Sunday or would have been right in contention, as he was 4-under on the rest of the difficult course.

Gooch, now in his third season on the PGA Tour,  moved up to No. 58 on the Fed-Ex Cup rankings. He has made 10 of 11 cuts in 2019-20 and his best finish to date is a tie for fourth at the Houston Open.

Among other players with Oklahoma ties to make the cut, onetime Oklahoma State player Wyndham Clark tied for 17th at 5-under, former Oklahoma Sooner Abraham Ancer was tied for 43rd at even-par and former Cowboy Alex Noren tied for 59th at 4-over.

In the Korn Ferry Tour’s LECOM Suncoast Classic at Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Taylor Moore of Edmond shot 18-under par to finish tied for 11th, five shots off the lead. Former Cowboy Peter Uihlein finished at 16-under and tied for 20th, while former Sooner Charlie Saxon of Tulsa tied for 32nd at 14-under, one stroke ahead of former OU teammate Grant Hirschman and former Oklahoma City University star Tyrone Van Aswegan.
