Tulsa women in seventh in Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate
NEW ORLEANS, La. –– The Tulsa women’s golf team sits in 7th place after two rounds Monday at the 54-hole Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.
The Golden Hurricane turned rounds of 295 and 293 for a 36-hole total of 588. Only 8 strokes separate teams from 3rd through 9th place.at the par-73, 6,336-yard English Turn Golf Club.
Florida leads the way with rounds of 288 and 284 for a 572 total score for a 5-stroke lead over second-place North Carolina State. Rounding out the top-5 teams is Miami (581), Houston (584) and Michigan State (585).
Lorena Tseng paces the Hurricane with a 2-round total of 146 after turning in scores of 74 and 72 for 20th place. Juniors Haley Greb and Taylor Dobson have identical scores for 26th place with scores of 147. The each carded an even-par 73 in the first 18 holes and shot 1-over par 74 in second round action.
Freshman Lilly Thomas improved 6 strokes from first to second round action, turning in rounds of 79 and an even-par 73 for a 152 total score for 52nd place. Sammy Liu is in 56th place with a score of 153.
The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday.
