TEQUESTA, FLA. (May 20, 2018) – After a suspension due to darkness last night, Round 1 of the 4th U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship resumed this morning at 6:55 a.m. EDT and is now complete. Round 2 began at 7:30 a.m. Original tee times were pushed back 30 minutes.
Scott Harvey, the 2014 U.S. Mid-Amateur Champion, and partner Todd Mitchell, the 2008 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship runner-up, shot a 62 to pace the field. Following Round 2, the field will be cut to the low 32 sides for match play, which begins Monday. Should there be any ties, a playoff will take place to determine the final spots in the draw.
Notable:
- Harvey aced the 189-yard 17th hole on Jupiter Hills Club’s Village Course this morning. It is the sixth hole-in-one in the championship’s history.
- Harvey and Mitchell’s 62 matched the lowest round in championship history.
