ORU’s Garcia, Burrows, NSU’s Moberg earn weekly honors
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A record-breaking duo from Oral Roberts swept the latest Summit League Golfer of the Week honors. Junior Beatriz Garcia captured the female honors after collecting medalist honors at the Kansas City Intercollegiate while senior Cody Burrows earned the male honor after turning his sixth top-five finish of the season at the Missouri Tiger Invitational.
Burrows is enjoying a tremendous senior season and, with his latest weekly accolade, tied both The Summit League career (nine; Brian Stuard, Oakland and Maricio Tamez, Oral Roberts) and single-season (five; Stuard and Petter Mikalsen, Oakland) records for weekly/monthly honors earned.
For Garcia, the tournament title was the first of her career as she set a new ORU 54-hole scoring mark with a 211 (-5) finish as she led ORU to its first team title since 2015. She opened with rounds of 68 (-4) and 69 (-3) to mark the first time Garciafinished under par during her career. She obliterated her previous career-best by 11 strokes.
Burrows turned in one of the best scoring efforts of his career en route to a tie for third in Columbia, Mo. He matched his career low with a 66 (-6) in the opening round and his 54-hole total of 206 (-10) was a career low and was the fifth best by a Golden Eagle in program history.

• League-leading sixth top-5 finish of the season
• Leads the league with a 71.4 stroke average
Moberg is MIAA Golfer of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northeastern State’s Ebba Moberg claimed top billing as the MIAA Athlete of the Week in women’s golf, league officials announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Moberg won the individual title at the Central Region Preview on a 145 (74-71) score besting two players from #2-ranked Dallas Baptist. This was her third career first-place finish and second title in the last three seasons at the Rivercut Golf Course.
The senior led NSU to a top finish among those from the Central Region and the MIAA with a 609 (301-308). The RiverHawks finished runner-up behind Dallas Baptist.
In four seasons at NSU, Moberg has 20 finishes in the top-10 and 11 top-5s.
