Strong field set for Talor Gooch Foundation Championship at Gaillardia

A strong field highlighted by 30 native Oklahoma players is ready to compete for 54 holes in the Talor Gooch Foundation Championship presented by 3Bird Kids Foundation, an American Junior Golf Association event at Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City beginning Tuesday through Thursday.

Among the Oklahomans competing on the boys side are Grant Gudgel of Stillwater, Collin Bond of Norman, Preston Albee of Choctaw, Samuel Bonaobra of Broken Arrow, brothers Rhett and Chase Hughes of Oklahoma City, Hunter Baumann of Edmond, Jace Chaney of Ardmore, Cameron Cheek of Owasso, Ty Hyatt of Stillwater, Christian Johnson of Oklahoma City, Ben Lathrop of Oklahoma City, Carson Lee of Edmond, Cohen Lorenzen of Edmond, Emerson Majma of Edmond, Benton Manly of Tulsa, Kyle McLaughlin of Oklahoma City, Mack Moore of Norman, Sam Morris of Tulsa, Parker Payne of Norman, CJ Phillips of Edmond, Parker Sands of Edmond and Cooper Watson of Lawton.

Among the top contenders of Oklahoma girls going in would be Class 6A champion Lisa Herman of Jenks. The talented field also includes Evyn Cannon of Edmond,  Lucy Darr of Stillwater, Jaci Hartman of Burneyville, Juliana Hong of Norman, Allie Justiz of Arcadia, Sophia Lefler of Tulsa and Rylee Roberts of Edmond.

Gooch, the professional golfer from Midwest City who has won three events this year on the LIV Golf circuit, will be a prominent figure at the event he is hosting. His foundation benefits a variety of initiatives supporting children. It’s mission statement reads “The mission of the Talor Gooch Foundation is to uplift and empower children by equipping them with tools, experiences and opportunities to chase and accomplish their dreams.”
