Tulsa adds Texas prep star to women’s golf team
Randi Romack from Westlake High School in Austin, Texas, has signed a national letter-of-intent to continue her education and playing career at The University of Tulsa, head coach Emilee Klein-Gille announced today.
“I am so excited that Randi is joining us at Tulsa. She has had an exemplary junior and high school career winning some prestigious events. Randi’s golf game is very solid all around and I know she will immediately make an impact on our program, ” said Klein-Gille.
Romack placed third in a field of 60 golfers at the UIL Texas District Championship in both the 2015 and 2016 spring seasons. She turned in rounds of 71 and 69 last April, and the year before carded rounds of 72-64 at the same event. In 2015, Romack won the Starburst Junior Classic in Waco, Texas, with rounds of 70-72 in the field of 42 participants. She also had a second-place performance at the Legends TLJT.org (71-71) and a third-place finish at the TJGT Holiday Classic (81-74-75).
At the 2015 Junior PGA Championship Qualifier, Romack placed fifth with rounds of 77-69 for a 146 total at the Augusta Pines Golf Club. She finished in a tie for 8th place at the 2016 Southern Texas Section Junior PGA Championship with rounds of 76-72, again at Augusta Pines Golf Club.
