Tulsa tied for first entering final round of Barbara Nicklaus Cup at Muirfield

DUBLIN, Ohio –– After the first two rounds at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup, the Tulsa women golfers sit in a tie for first place with TCU at the par-72 Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Tulsa carded rounds of 318 and a tournament-best 314 for a 632 score after Monday’s competition. The Golden Hurricane has four golfers among the top-20 individuals in the field of eight teams. The Horned Frogs turned in rounds of 315 and 317.

The Hurricane made up four strokes in second round action after sitting in third place after the opening 18 holes on Monday to overtake first-round leader Maryland.

Freshman Grace Kilcrease is in a third-place tie after rounds of 77-78 for an 11-over par 155 total, while sophomore Lovisa Gunnar is one stroke back with a 156 total after turning in rounds of 80 and 76.

Sophomore Sydney Seigel has a 159 score for 12th place after the opening day and freshman Emily Boehrer carded a score of 163 and is in 19th place. Senior Lilly Thomas has a 169 total score for 30thplace.

The final 18 holes will be played in shotgun format on Tuesday morning.

Tulsa will host the Dale McNamara Invitational next Monday-Tuesday, Oct.10-11, at Cedar Ridge Country Club.
