There were some notable performances by Oklahomans on the various professional and amateur tours over the weekend.

On the PGA Tour, Robert Streb and Rhein Gibson, both with Edmond ties, tied for 21st at the Corales Puntacana Club & Resort Championship in the Dominican Republic. Both shot 9-under, while former Edmond North and Oklahoma State golfer Kevin Tway tied for 41st at 6 under and former Oklahoma State golfer Kristoffer Ventura tied for 51st at 5-under.

On the Korn Ferry Tour’s Wichita Open, Josh Creel of Edmond tied for 41st at 7-under, while former OSU golfer Kevin Dougherty tied for 55th at 4-under and Taylor Moore of Edmond tied for 65 at 1-under. Former Tulsan Tag Ridings was leading the event through 27 holes but was disqualified for having used an incorrect greens book during the opening round. Ridings and another golfer had reprinted the yardage book with images that were a fraction larger (1/8th inch) than the official versions and were disqualified. Here is a link to the restrictions on the PGA Tour regarding yardage books that was apparently violated by the books they were using. Ridings said on Twitter that he accepted the blame for using the book that another golfer had printed out.

Oak Tree National member Blake Trimble tied for third in this weekend’s All Pro Tour event at Colbert Hills Golf Club in Manhattan, Kan., shooting 8-under for 54 holes. Hayden Wood of Edmond tied for 13th. Complete results here.
