Wolff is Big 12 Golfer of the Month

IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State’s Matthew Wolff was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for March it was announced today by the league office.

The honor was the second consecutive and third overall for Wolff.  OSU has won four of the league’s five golfer of the month awards this year. In addition to Wolff winning in September, February and March, Viktor Hovland garnered the honor in October.

The Cowboy sophomore carded rounds of 65, 66 and 68 for a 14-under total of 199 to win the Valspar Collegiate. The victory was Wolff’s fifth of the season, setting a new program single-season standard. The win extended OSU’s string of medalists to eight in a row on the year. The victory also helped vault Wolff to No. 2 in the most recent World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Additionally, Wolff finished second to teammate Austin Eckroat at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate after firing rounds of 67, 70 and 64 for a 12-under score of 201.

Wolff and the top-ranked Cowboys will be back in action this weekend when they begin play at the Aggie Invitational.
