NORMAN – Four members of the Oklahoma women’s golf team were named to 2020 Academic All-Big 12 Team, the league office announced Monday.
Juniors Kaitlin Milligan and Sydney Youngblood earned first-team honors, which requires student-athletes to have at least a 3.20 GPA. Sophomore Libby Winans and redshirt freshman Maria Fernanda Martinez garnered second-team selections.
Milligan was one of five women’s golfers from all Big 12 institutions to be recognized for having a 4.0 GPA. Her selection to the first team is her second in as many years.
To qualify for the Academic All-Big 12 Team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher, either cumulatively or over each of the two previous semesters. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
